Abu Dhabi, Sep 27 (IANS) Nearly 10,000 people are preparing to form a human map of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Nov 28 to mark the country’s Federation Day.
Participants will get together at Marina Mall here on the day to form the map and pay tribute to the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nayhan in recognition and appreciation of the charitable and humanitarian efforts of the father and founder of the UAE, news agency WAM said Thursday.
“The event will be organised with the theme ‘The Giving Heart’ in remembrance of Sheikh Zayed’s generous initiatives, aimed to encourage charitable work, cooperation and efforts to alleviate the sufferings of human beings,” noted Adel Abdullah Al Shameri, chief of the Emirates World Heart Group which is organising the upcoming event.
“Humanitarian work transcends all borders,” he said.
A number of heart patients who need surgeries but are not covered by the public health programmes will benefit from the functions of the charitable event, the organisers said.
