Beijing : The Chinese police informed Monday those responsible for the main fires during the violent clashes in Tibet have been arrested.
The Chinese authorities announced very early today the arrests are linked to four fires where 12 people were charred, three of them on March 14 in the Tibetan capital of Lhasa, and another in Dagze district on March 15.
Those arrested are suspected to have set the fierce fires in three stores in Lasha of the Yishion and Hongyu fashion brands and a third of Playboy.
Qime Lahazom and another two suspected of setting the fire at the Yishion store will account for the deaths of five employees.
The one who set the fire at the Hongyu store, where a 45-year-old clerk died, is also arrested, the official announcement added.
A total of 18 people and one policeman died during the separatist disturbances in the Tibetan capital, with over 600 others wounded.
The police detained 414 suspects in the incidents, and 111 have been released for low involvement.
In addition, a list of the 53 people was published for being wanted for their connection with the Lhasa disorders, which left over 35 million dollars in economic losses.
