Volatile Indian equities market closes in the red

Mumbai : A volatile Indian equities market closed at a loss Thursday due to selling in key sector scrips, though global cues were mixed.

The market had opened down as per international cues. Then it went flat and failed to pick up in the second half.

The 30-share sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) opened with a loss of 35.64 points at 15,574.87 and notched a high of 15,953.54 before closing at 15,655.20. It lost 135.31 points or 0.86 percent from Wednesday’s close.
