Moscow : Global investors Goldman Sachs, in their first realty acquisition in Russia, have bought a $300 million gated community in the capital, a Russian business daily said Friday.
The deal, carried out through Whitehall Street Real Estate Funds, a Goldman Sachs Group affiliate, is the group’s first real estate acquisition in Russia, Kommersant reported.
The global financiers bought Pokrovsky Hills, a 260-unit townhouse community in the northwest part of the capital city, from another US firm, AIG Global Real Estate.
The community is situated in a hilly and wooded area adjacent to the Anglo-American School in the northwest outskirts of the Russian capital.
Major tenants include several embassies, as well as Nestle, Maersk Sealand, Shell, Conoco, and Procter & Gamble, among others.
