Seoul : South Korean demonstrators in favor of and against agreements between President Myung Bak with Washington gathered in Seoul on Tuesday to welcome White House tenant George W. Bush.
While some protested renovation of the license to controversial bovine meat imports from the United States, others, mostly conservatives, Christians, and war veterans expressed their support to the visitor.
According to the Yonhap news agency, those against were shouting: “Bush, go home! Myung Bak, go home!” according to the Yonhap news agency.
Meanwhile, the followers of the current South Korean conservative government, estimated at thousands, were 984 feet from them and called to unity with the big allied from the United States.
The authorities said some 20,000 police agents were mobilized after Bush arrived in the country.
The US president has planned a meeting on Wednesday with his South Korean peer to tackle, above all, the bilateral alliance and progress in the international dispute triggered by the nuclear program of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
