Brussels : The European Union approved today new economic sanctions against Iran although the later insists to defend the peaceful end of its nuclear program.
The restrictions make up a package of restrictions the UN Security Council approved in March against Tehran.
The EU will limit support to local companies trading with Iran, rise control on financial groups with shares at Iranian banks, and search planes and ships coming from or going to Iran.
Previous EU measures involve an enlarged list of persons and facilities without the right to visa to access the block as part of a group of restrictions the US had urged for months.
Iran warned that is has the right to use nuclear energy for peaceful end under the Non Proliferation Treaty and continue to produce uranium to supply its nuclear plants.
