Russian general wounded in South Ossetian fighting

Moscow : The commander of Russian troops in the breakaway Georgian region of South Ossetia has been slightly wounded in the fighting there, the Interfax news agency reported Sunday.

General Anatoly Khrulev, commander of the 58th army, was hit by shell fragments and taken to a hospital in Russia, the Russian general staff said in Moscow.

The Russian 58th army has been battling Georgian forces in South Ossetia for the past three days.
