Bangalore blast probe reaching dead end?

Bangalore (Karnataka): The Karnataka government has claimed that the state police have got a very important proof in the investigation of the Bangalore bomb blasts. But the state Home Minister V.S. Acharya did not give any details, saying it will hamper investigation.

He further informed that around five hundred people have been interrogated during the ongoing investigation of the serial blasts that killed two people and wounded many others on July 25.

Meanwhile the state government has indicated that it will invoke the controversial Karnataka Control of Organized Crimes Act (KCOCA) to crack down on culprits. Following the Bangalore blasts, the government is contemplating to bring some amendments to the law. The government will pass an ordinance in this regard.

A meeting of officers of the department of law and police officers will soon be called to discuss the amendments, and then the government will decide about the implementation of the law.

The state Home Minister also said that the government will establish an intelligence department and special officers will be deputed for this purpose. The government will also send some officers abroad for training.
