The party is going to organize a dharna at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar tomorrow to show its solidarity with people of Kashmir and to protest against the economic blockade and police firing.

For nearly two decades Indians did little while Kashmir was being brutalized, says a statement from the party. It’s time we came out in support of those who have been oppressed and victimised. Naked appeasement of Hindu fascist forces in Jammu and suppression of demonstrators should make us realize how serious the situation is, says the statement.

Due to the ongoing agitation, there is a shortage of essentials like medicines, food, milk, vegetables and LPG. Fruit-laden trucks have piled up and it will take weeks to clear the 40 day old backlog.
