Lucknow : The district court of Pratapgarh in Uttar Pradesh has issued a non-bailable warrant against Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) legislator Brijesh Mishra, one of the two people accused of murdering a lawyer in 2005, an official said Tuesday.
“The chief judicial magistrate issued the non-bailable warrant Monday after the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) submitted the chargesheet. Similar orders were passed for the other co-accused,” a court official said.
Mishra represents the Garhwara constituency of Pratapgarh district, about 200 km from here. He has been charged with the murder of lawyer Raghavendra Singh but claims he is innocent and has been framed by his political rivals.
“I have full faith in the judiciary. The non-bailable warrant is the handiwork of my political rivals,” Mishra said.
