The Muslim organizations have argued that the incident is a part of a series of cases where various empirical pieces of evidence emerged showing clearly that the communal forces are involved in the acts of terror in the country. However, after every act of terror Muslims are branded as terrorist.

A powerful blast in a private hostel in Kanpur killed Piyush Mishra (25) and Bhupinder Singh (32) during the process of bomb making. The explosion destroyed the doors and the walls of the room.

Bhupinder Singh was the Bajrang Dal’s city chief 10 years back and according to the Hindi daily Hindustan, Piyush Mishra was present at the RSS shakha in the morning on the day of explosion.

The police have recovered some bombs, lead oxide, Potassium Nitrate, red lead and other important elements of bomb making from the place of explosion.

TwoCircles.net talked to Dr. Manzoor Alam, General Secretary of All India Milli Council (AIMC).

He said that we have demanded the government to appoint one judicial commission to enquire all the blasts and related incidents in the last ten years.

The scope of investigation should be broadened to include all the fundamentalist groups across the religious and national divide, i.e. SIMI, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Bajrang Dal, Shiv Sena and its offshoots, ISI, Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammad, and foreign intelligence agencies.

AIMC has demanded that a judicial commission should be headed by any former Chief Justice of India. It should include two other judges of High Court and the civil society should also be represented in the Commission.

Dr. Manzoor Alam further said: “Our second demand is to ban Bajrang Dal because the remarkable thing about the blasts is that the technology which was used in the Kanpur blasts was superior and more sophisticated than that of other blasts. Normally that kind of technology is used by army. Having said this, it raises lots of questions to be answered about the nature of the organization and the kinds of activities that Bajrang Dal is engaged in.”

Lucknow-based Movement Against Terrorism, an organization of Muslim scholars and lawyers, has condemned the incident saying Bajrang Dal had an important role to play in entire incident. It wanted to create communal tension at the time of festivals by exploding bombs.

Briefing mediapersons the president of the organization Moulana Khalid Rashid Firang Mahli demanded a high level enquiry into the incident.

He said that the remarkable thing about the incident is that it occurred on the eve of Janmashtmi which points towards the sinister conspiracy of these people to create communal rift.

He further accused the government of using double standard as had these bombs been recovered from the house of any Muslim, immediately he would have been booked under the charges of terrorism.

However, according to him, the government is going slow on this incident.

Naish Hassan who is the founder member of Muslim Mahila Andolan (MMA) Lucknow, spoke to TwoCircles.net on this issue.

She said that MMA completely and outright condemns this incident and demands its objective and impartial enquiry.

She said: “Kanpur blast is the tip of the iceberg. If the government seriously investigates this blast including the recent Nanded bomb blasts, Ahmadabad and Jaipur bomb blasts from CBI then real people involved in these blasts in India would be exposed.”

“As for now these people are lucky that they have got the terrorist image of Muslims which helps them evade and the innocent Muslims are put behind the bars” said she who came to limelight a couple of weeks ago when her nikah was officiated by a woman, first time perhaps in the Indian Muslim history.

Advocate SMA Kazmi who is associated with Muslims for Secular Democracy, Allahabad also spoke to TwoCircles.net.

He said: “Kanpur explosion is important in two respects. One is that till now there used to be a belief that Bajrang Dal is not involved in terror activities, but this incident has exposed the picture which was being painted till now which was actually a facade.”

Second important aspect to be noted is: “the slackness by the media in covering this issue. It treated it as if it is not ‘news.’ Had it been any Muslim then you would have seen its activism.”

Talking to TwoCircles.net on Kanpur bomb explosion, she said it is high time that the government and the investigative agencies must look into other possibilities in terms of investigation of the bomb blasts and acts of terror.

The series of recent incidents point towards the possibility of Hindutva forces being involved in the bomb blasts, be it the Nanded bomb blasts, the arrest of two youths with huge quantity of ammonium nitrate and thousands of detonators in Uttar Pradesh, or this Kanpur incident.

“It is a long time since the Hindutva forces have been benefited by the image of Muslims as terrorists and by the benefit of doubt. The government must act now otherwise it would snowball into a serious problem for the secular interests of India.”
