Meanwhile, a few persons belonging to the other sect organized a protest demonstration against their own Ulema in front of Kotwali police station.

Earlier, Brelvi Ulema in Rampur had protested against proposed Ijtima, apprehending clashes because of it but the administration succeeded resolving the tangle through an agreement that envisage holding of Brelvi Ijtima in the month of Muharram. It was also agreed that Tablighee Ijtima will be held in a marriage hall near Idgah and no literature will be distributed there. But disgruntled people have created tension in the city.

Tension in Rampur has alerted the officers. For the first time, the administration has announced to video-graph the proceedings of Tablighee Ijtima. The district magistrate says, “Video-graph is necessary to ensure that no disturbance is caused in the Ijtima.” But people think that it may be used as a justification for video-graphing other ijtemas in future.
