New Delhi : At least 20 people were killed and 50 injured in a powerful bomb explosion, allegedly trigerred by suspected rebels of Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) in central Sri Lanka Saturday.
The blast took place inside a bus packed with passengers. It was heading towards Anuradhapura town from Kandy in the Central part of the island nation this morning, Press Trust of India reported, quoting a Sri Lankan Army officer.
Among those killed and injured were many Buddhist pilgrims, who were on their way to Anuradhapura, the news agency said.
