New Delhi : Maulana Mohammad Wali Rahmani, Sajjadah Nasheen of Munger’s Khanqah Rahmani, expressed his deep concern over rise in female foeticide in the country. In the last few years, about 50 million girls are believed to have been killed in the country. What is more heinous is the thinking that girls are burden on the family, Maulana said. He warned Muslims against the trend of foeticide.
Maulana Rahmani said the country is facing a paradoxical situation: on one hand, there are high-toned talks about women’s freedom and rights but on the other, the trend of female foeticide is growing. He reminded people of the Islamic prohibition against foeticide.
