By NNN-KUNA

Baghdad : The Iraqi parliament failed once again, because of lack of quorum, to vote on three important bills including one of which was a draft budget for 2008 and another regulating governorate councils work.

The parliamentary meeting was postponed till Wednesday, during an unscheduled meeting, after several parliamentary blocs pulled out, the office of the Parliament Speaker’s office announced Tuesday.

According to an informed source, some 17 percent of the budget set aside for Kurdish provinces was approved in the draft national budget.

Earlier, the Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament Mahmoud Al-Mashadani had said a deal was concluded with the Sunni Arab community with regard to the national amnesty plan.

He said the demands of the Shiite community with regard to provincial councils were also approved.

He said the Kurds have insisted on implementing their demands in the budget accounting for 17 percent of the national figures.
