Jordan keen on facilitating appropriate living conditions for refugees – King

Amman : King Abdullah II said on Tuesday that Jordan appreciates the important and human services provided by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in the various parts of the world.

King said, during a meeting with High Commissioner for Refugees Antonio Guterres that Jordan, which supports the exerts efforts to provide suitable care for refugees, desires for more cooperation and coordination with the UNHCR.

The King briefed Guterres on the efforts being exerted to secure suitable living standards and provide health and educational services for Iraqi brethren, who are hosted by the Kingdom.

The King stressed that Jordan will continue its efforts in this regard, despite the challenges it faces.

For his part, Guterres hailed Jordans support for the activities and programs of the UNHCR, noting to the distinguished services provided for Iraqis by Jordan.

He added that despite the great challenges, Jordan opened its gates for Iraqis who fled their countries to protect their selves from violence.
