Mumbai : Bangalore-headquartered IT firm MindTree Consulting Ltd (MCL) Wednesday bagged the Nasscom Innovation Award 2007 for knowledge management (KM).

Nasscom or the National Association of Software and Services Companies is a consortium that serves as an interface to the Indian software and business process outsourcing industry.

“The honour recognises the ecosystem we have built in MindTree,” said the company’s consulting chairman and managing director, Ashok Soota.

According to the official spokesperson of the company, the key thrust areas of KM in MindTree were innovation, collaboration and reuse, where the ecosystem allows acceleration in innovative processes within any organisation.

Elaborating on MindTree’s KM, consulting vice-president Raj Datta said: “The knowledge ecosystem strengthens four spaces within which the system consumes and produces knowledge vis-à-vis physical, virtual, social and mind space.”

The award comes on the heels of MindTree being declared the overall winner and most admired knowledge enterprise in the Indian Most Admired Knowledge Enterprises (MAKE) study conducted by global consulting firm Teleos Leadership Institute and the Know Network, an international Web-based professional knowledge sharing network, in 2007.
