PML-N to welcome elected persons from other factions

LAHORE,Feb 19 (APP): Pakistan Muslim League (N) leader Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has said that elected representatives from other factions of PML would be welcomed if they show interest in rejoining their parent-party. He was addressing a press conference at his model town residence here on Tuesday. Ishaq Dar and other leaders of the party were also present on this occasion.

Nawaz Sharif,however, said that PML-N would not accept the return of Chaudhri brothers of PML-Q to his party.

He said that PML-N would adopt a conciliatory approach towards other parties and appreciate every good gesture in the larger interest of the country.

He said that a meeting of the party with other political parties would be held at Islamabad on Thursday in which future action plan would be discussed.

“PML-N was given most difficult circumstances to contest the general elections, all types of pressure and negative tactics were used against the party to keep it away from success. Several actions were taken one after another which we are facing till today “, he said while responding to a question about rigging in the polling.

“Rigging started with the rejection of nomination papers (Nawaz, Shahbaz) with the objective of discouraging the party workers’ activities in the elections, even results of our candidates were changed, one of our candidates was winning in the night but the next morning we found himself defeated with a margin of 12 votes”, Nawaz said.

Mian Nawaz Sharif said he salutes the spirit of the nation which it showed during the process of elections and getting success for his party in the polls.

He said that he congratulates the whole nation and all those who won the elections.

“ I welcome and hope that all of them would join hands to bring the country out of shadows of dictatorship and take it on the path of democracy “, he said.

He praised the positive and effective role of media and its work despite difficult circumstances and restrictions.

He said that main agenda of his party is to ensure complete freedom of media, restoration of judiciary,rule of law, supremacy of the parliament and constitution. It would be implemented in cooperation with other political parties.

He said that the options like formation of a coalition government at federal and provincial levels would be discussed with other parties.

All unconstitutional and illegal acts like removal of judges, issuance of both of the Provisional Constitutional Orders (PCO), PEMRA regulations will be reviewed, he said.

He endorsed the demand of Asif Ali Zardari releasing arrested lawyers.

To a question, he said the validity of Presidential election will be decided by the judiciary.

To a question, he said that he expects from the army generals nothing except obeying the constitution.
