Islamabad : Two Pakistan’s ruling party leaders had lost their seats in the Monday’s parliamentary elections, Dawn News and Aaj TV reported on Tuesday.
Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, president of the Pakistan Muslim League-Q party, and Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, the railways minister, lost seats in the vote in Punjab province.
A spokesman for the ruling party said that early results showed the opposition did well in the parliamentary elections.
Shafiq Ahted Khan of the Pakistan People’s Party won a provincial assembly seat in Balochistan.
The Election Commission is still collecting data from all across the country and final results are expected to be announced on Wednesday.
