As the first step towards building the plant, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) signed Sunday a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a consortium of three global firms from US, Canada and China to conduct a study for setting up the plant.

The Managing Director and CEO of DEWA Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer and the CEOs of the three international firms – Global International, Skyline Services Group and Power and Energy Limited – signed the MoU at a special ceremony in Dubai.

Al Tayer said on the occasion that DEWA is keen on bringing new technologies and energy sources to cater to the ever-increasing demand for power and water in the emirate as a result of continuing development.
