Islamabad : Federal Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Syed Afzal Haider has appreciated the role of judiciary for the smooth and peaceful conduct of free, fair and transparent elections in the country. In separate letters addressed to the chief justices of Balochistan, NWFP, Sindh and Punjab, the minister expressed deep appreciation on behalf of the Government of Pakistan and Ministry of Law and Justice for the smooth and peaceful conduct of free, fair and transparent election”.
“We are cognizant of the tense situation under which the elections were held. It has, however, been possible through your personal attention, supervision and the encouragement instilled in the judges and their staff who had been directly or indirectly involved in the conduct of election process culminating on February 18”, he added.
The law minister said no gain saying that they displayed maturity, cool headedness and the will to discharge their duties faithfully and commitment to brave all odds.
It deserves recognition and of course appreciation.
The minister said, you will have been equally pleased over the wide and international acknowledgement of the conduct of elections in free, fair, transparent and peaceful manner. The elections have enhanced the image of Pakistan”.
