Group making efforts for a Muslim TV channel

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh based Progressive Muslims Charitable Trust is making efforts to launch an exclusive Muslim TV channel in the country.

In a bid to gather support from intellectuals, Ulema and politicians, the organization is holding meetings. One of such meetings was held on 26th February at the residence of former U.P. minister Bunyad Husain Ansari in Sitapur. Addressing the gathering, trustee secretary of the organization advocate M.A. Haseeb said a Muslim TV channel is the need of the hour, more so to counter anti-Islam and anti-Muslim global campaign. He elaborated on the efforts made so far the launch of the channel.

Giving details of the, Ihtisham Mirza said the channel would be started at the cost of about Rupees 12 crore. The channel will telecast its programs in 57 countries in the beginning. Welcoming the members of the organization, Bunyad Husain Ansari said this was insensitivity of the community that it assessed the need of a channel too late.
