Well informed sources revealed that Minister of Sate for Finance, Planning, Law, Parliamentary Affairs and Revenue, Prem Sagar Aziz was asked to submit his resignation by his party high command to pave way for the induction of some new faces in the council of ministry.

Aziz, in his resignation letter to the Chief Minister, said that since elections to the State Legislative Assembly were being held this year he volunteered to work for the party to make it stronger.

“I would be grateful if you accept my resignation from the Council of Ministers and allow me to work for the party”, Aziz said.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister has forwarded Aziz’s resignation to the Governor for acceptance.

Sources said that his resignation would be accepted by this evening so that another party member would be inducted at his place.

It is pertinent to mention here that Azad is inducting at least four new ministers in his cabinet today. All of them would be from Congress, sources said.
