The two sides exchanged views and agreed to continue discussion to improving mutual understanding regarding mutual concerns and issues, including achieving stability in the region, the Egyptian foreign ministry said in a press release Tuesday.

The Representative of the Supreme Leader to the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Larijani conferred with Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul-Gheit on expansion of mutual relations, regional developments and Iran’s nuclear program, the statement added.

On Iran’s nuclear activities, Larijani said since Iran has had constructive and close cooperation with IAEA which prompted the IAEA to confirm peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear activities, there is no justification for keeping the dossier in the United Nations Security Council.

Larijani also highlighted during the meeting Iran’s views regarding developments in Iraq, Lebanon, and the gulf area.
