Harbhajan dismisses Ponting for eighth time in eight Tests

Sydney : Whatever may be Ricky Ponting’s protestations, India’s off-spinner Harbhajn Singh has proved beyond doubt that the Australian skipper is his bunny by dismissing him for a record eighth time in eight Tests.

When Harbhajan dismissed Ponting, caught off a leading edge by V.V.S. Laxman in the second innings of the second Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground here Saturday, the Indian off-spinner equalled England fast bowler Darren Gough, who has also dismissed the Australian captain eight times.

On Saturday, Ponting’s heir apparent Michael Clarke recorded his first zero in his 47th innings. He is now the second in the list of Australian batsmen after Allan Davidson (51) for playing the most innings before recording the first duck.
