Hayden is the first batsman in the history of Test cricket to score 20 centuries at home.

Hayden has posted back-to-back hundreds – 124 & 47 at Melbourne and 13 & 123 at the SCG here – against India for the first time.

Michael Hussey’s unbeaten innings of 87 is his ninth Test fifty, his first against India. In the process, Hussey has completed 2,000 runs – 2,062 at an average of 82.48 in 20 Tests.

Only Bradman (15) and West Indian George Headley (17) took fewer Tests than Hussey to reach 2,000 runs.

During their 160-run partnership, Hayden and Hussey set a record for the third wicket against India at the Sydney Cricket Ground, obliterating the 97 between Justin Langer and Mark Waugh in January 2000.
