Guangzhou (China) : At least ten people were killed and 39 injured when a speeding bus hit a truck and a bus on an expressway in the southern province of Guangdong early Monday, the local administration said.
The speeding bus, en route from Shenzhen to Nanning in the neighboring Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, ran into the truck ahead on an expressway in the coastal city of Zhanjiang, traffic police there said.
The bus then veered across the median of the expressway and crashed into an oncoming bus.
There were some 76 passengers on the two buses when the accident occurred, the police said, adding that the injured, seven of them in critical condition, were rushed to nearby hospitals.
Authorities were yet to identify the dead and an investigation into the accident was under way.
