Ranchi : Two security personnel were killed and one injured in an acidental grenade blast Tuesday at a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp in Bokaro district of Jharkhand, police said.
“Two CRPF personnel were killed and one injured when a grenade blast occurred in at the CRPF camp in Bokaro district Tuesday morning. The blast happened when the security personnel were doing a routine check of the arms,” said R.K. Mallik, spokesperson of Jharkhand police.
One company of the CRPF is posted in Bokaro district, about 140 km from Ranchi, for anti-Maoist operations.
According to police sources, the grenade slipped from hand of a CRPF jawan. Three CRPF troopers were injured. Two of them died on the way to hospital and the condition of third is said to be critical.
