Buenos Aires : A head-on collision of two vehicles killed 14 members of two families in the central Argentine Cordoba province, EFE news agency reported Tuesday.
Half of the victims were children. An eight-year-old girl, the only survivor of the accident near La Francia, a tourist town, died early Monday.
The two vehicles collided on Highway 19 Sunday. The accident might have been caused due to a mechanical failure of one of the vehicles, the police said.
So far this year, 33 people have been killed in vehicular accidents in Cordoba province.
Last year, 8,104 people were killed in vehicular accidents in Argentina, according to an estimate provided by a non-governmental organisation Luchemos por la Vida.
