Ottawa : Canadian studies at Manitoba University, results of which published Wednesday, indicated that stressed mothers’ children are more susceptible to asthma attacks.
After tracking over 13,907 medical records for children born in Manitoba from the year 1995 until 2003, the university researchers found that those who have been raised by depressed and stressed mothers developed asthma 8,3 percent more than their peers by the age of seven.
The study also reveals that children who live with mothers who are depressed, even if they were of high income, and had one child are more likely to have health problems than those with healthier mothers of less means.
