Chouhan drew Patil’s attention to the fact that the powers to confer citizenship have been given to Gujarat and Rajasthan Governments while the proposal of Madhya Pradesh has been turned down. He requested Patil to take a decision at the earliest possible in this regard.

The Chief Minister informed the Union Home Minister that Madhya Pradesh has been allocated less funds for construction of houses for houseless families and improvement of houses. Madhya Pradesh should be allocated higher funds under Indira Awas Yojana. This situation has arisen due to registration of less number of kuccha houses in Madhya Pradesh in the Census. He also urged to correct these figures.

The Minister for Revenue Kamal Patel, Secretary to the Chief Minister Anurag Jain and Commissioner in Delhi Mrs. Vijaya Shrivastava were also present on the occasion. ([email protected])
