Ranchi (Jharkhand): North India’s prominent Muslim institution Imarat Shariah has launched an education awareness campaign in three states – Bihar, Jharkhand and Orissa to highlight the significance of education among the Muslim community.

The campaign has been launched in the backdrop of the Sachar Committee report which has exposed the Muslim appeasement propaganda by Sangh Parivar. The report has laid bare the failure of the central and state governments in progress and development of the community.

This campaign is going on in full swing in all three states, said Qazi Mohammad Anwar Alam Qasmi and Qazi Aziz Qasmi (Secretary, Imarat Shariah) in a joint press conference on 8th July at Imarat’s office.

Giving details of Imarat’s activities on education front, they said that Imarat Shariah is imparting education of Science, Mathematics, Computers, English and Hindi in its institutions for madrasa students. Imarat Shariah has submitted a survey report of all madrasas of the sate to Jharkhand Education Project and demanded the government to provide mid-day meal to its madrasa students.

They informed that the central government has also opened an office in the sate for opening Maulana Abul Kalam Azad National Open University on the appeal of Imarat. But it is very disappointing that the setting up of the university is being delayed as the state government has not yet provided land for it. If the university is set up soon then it will help in imparting education.

They stated that the last date of submission of application form for pre-matric scholarship has been extended to 31st July. Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Foundation Scholarship has been started for giving scholarship to Muslim girls and its application form can be obtained from department of minority welfares, they informed.

Imarat Shariah has also arranged admission in engineering in different engineering colleges of Hyderabad for those Muslim students who are economically weak and have secured 50% marks in Intermediate or 10+2 level. The interested students can contact Imarat Shariah for collection and submission of application form, they informed. Imarat has also arranged admission in previous years.
