Mumbai : The Indian equities market extended its loss in the afternoon trade. Banking, capital goods and power stocks were under selling pressure.
At 12:30 p.m., the 30-share BSE Sensex was down by 184.35 points or 1.32 percent at 13,779.91. At the day’s low, it touched 13,779.55.
At the same time, the broader-based S&P CNX Nifty was down by 39.45 points or 0.95 percent at 4,117.65
The market breadth was negative. On BSE, 1080 shares advanced compared to 1259 that declined and 81 that remained unchanged.
