New Delhi: Is everything fair at the National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL), government body?. NCPUL has been alleged of not following government rules for distribution of advertisements among media organizations.
A report published in the Urdu daily Rashtriya Sahara says that an advertisement agency has written a letter to Union HRD Minister Arjun Singh and NCPUL vice chairman Chander Bhan Khayal. The agency has alleged that NCPUL director Ali Javed has violated the rules for advertisement policy. It is alleged that Ali Javed allotted a particular ad agency advertisements of lakhs of rupees.
Chander Bhan Khayal has asked Ali Javed to show the concerned file. Khayal says that a government department generally has a panel of ad agencies for distribution of advertisements among media organizations. But this rule was reportedly not followed at NCPUL. A single ad agency was authorized to distribute advertisemtns.
According to the report, in the last few years NCPUL could distribute advertisements of Rs 5-15 lakh. But this year in the first seven months, NCPUL has released advertisements worth Rs one crore.
