European Commission negotiation head Joao Aguilar Machado pointed out that both parties will keep on working on the association topic and trade.

The representatives of the EC and the Central American countries analyzed the elements to create an Association of Collaboration among the parties, but they coincided in the idea that the conditions were not still given.

In his opinion, the negotiation is going fine and there is political will to conclude next year, as scheduled.

He underlined that before, the disagreements should be overcome in the commercial chapter, among those he talked about guarantees demanded by the EU that the products exported from Central America really come from this region.
