Kabul : The constant NATO, US air raids followed the massacre of Afghan civil population in the different military operations against rebels opposed to the occupying troops in this Central Asian Islamic nation.
According to Tribal and district leaders from Heart western province over 50 civilians were killed in the last 24 hours by bombing of nine US ships led by ISAF against Shindand region.
According to spokesmen from the International Security Assistance Forces (ISAF) under NATO command, the air raids in Farmakan and Bajtabad southern localities did not hurt the inhabitants.
Sources have previously reported that Shindand operation was developed by forces led by the Pentagon and Afghan collaborators killing an “important number” of Rebels.
However the Defense Ministry spokesman major general Zahir Azimi told the media in Kabul that some civilians were wounded in the joint operation.
In Shindad district, in Herat province, a US air raid killed 51 civilians on April 2007.
The US and NATO air raids have killed dozens, including women and children, in Ghazni, Farah and Kunar provinces so far this week.
UN statistics have shown that about 800 civilians were killed in the first half of 2008 by attacks of expeditionary forces that invaded the country in 2001.
