The ministry’s officials said all the three people killed were civilians. They said the bus was partially damaged in the blast that also injured three soldiers and three more civilians.

Meanwhile, a statement released by the NATO headquarters here said two ISAF soldiers were killed and four were wounded when their patrol was struck by a suicide vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (SVBIED) in Nangarhar province.

The attack on the NATO troops was carried out in Afghanistan’s eastern city of Jalalabad on Saturday.

Earlier, NATO officials said they did not know about casualties while local Afghan officials confirmed injuries to three foreign soldiers.

However, the late night statement from NATO headquarters in Kabul confirmed the killing of two of its soldiers and injuries to four others. “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of these fallen soldiers,” said ISAF spokesperson Brig.
