Lucknow : The Special Task Force (STF) of the Uttar Pradesh police Wednesday busted a gang involved in manufacturing prohibited oxytone injections and arrested four people here, a police official said.
STF sleuths recovered 3,000 oxytone injection bottles, raw material, manufacturing equipment and large quantity of empty bottles from a manufacturing unit that was being illegally run in Madiyaon locality.
Oxytone is used to improve milk yield from cattle and also as a painkiller for pregnant women.
“Acting on a tip-off, we first arrested Rajiv Gupta delivering a consignment of the injections to a woman identified as Shailendri Gupta,” station officer of Madiyaon police station Anupam Singh told IANS.
From their interrogation police learnt about the manufacturing unit and conducted the raid.
Two more people, Ram Naresh and Pinky Tiwari, were picked up from the illegal factory while filling the ampoules.
