Local radio channels said, “Palestinian militants attacked an Israeli army post in the town of Beit Lahiya in northern Gaza, which led to clashes and the death of two militants.” Al-Aqsa Martyr Brigades of Fatah and the National Resistance Brigades of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine claimed responsibility for this attack.

This came in a statement issued here today, asserting that militants from both brigades carried out an attack against Israeli troops.

Palestinian medical sources said, “Two Palestinian militants were killed in an attack, the ambulance was able to transport the body of one, whereas the other corpse remained at the scene of death, due to the large number of Israeli troops in the area.” A spokeswoman in Tel Aviv said soldiers stationed on the border spotted two gunmen approaching the fence and opened fire.

They shot one and, after a short chase, the second as well. An AK- 47 semi-automatic rifle and ammunition were found on the second body, the spokeswoman said.
