10 wounded in bombing in violence-plagued Thai South

Bangkok : Ten people were wounded when insurgents blasted a market in Thailand’s southern province of Yala on Tuesday morning.

The bomb was hidden in a motorcycle parked in the market, which located near a rail station in Yala’s Muang district, according to local newspaper Bangkok Post’s website.

Seven villagers and three soldiers were injured from the blast. They were rushed to Yala provincial hospital.

Thailand’s three southernmost provinces — Yala, Narathiwat and Pattani — have been troubled with insurgency-related violence which has claimed more than 3.000 people’s lives since 2004.
