Africans Talk Access to Drinking Water

Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt : Experts and permanent representatives before the African Union defended the definition of a common course leading to socialize the access to drinkable water in the continent.

Gathered in this resort, about 342 miles southeast of Cairo, delegates of 53 African nations are preparing the documents to be discussed by ministers and ratified by heads of State during their summit on June 30-July 1.

Figures provided by the World Health Organization, UNICEF and UNDP have led participants to describe regional situation as worrying.

At least 300 million Africans have no access to drinkable water, which is in permanent shortage in 14 African countries, according to WHO.
