Tehran : Iranian Parliament President, Ali Larijani, advised today to “take seriously” the warnings of an attack on the Islamic Republic made by Mohamed El Baradei, director of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
Larijani called for the West not to provoke Iran over its nuclear development for peaceful use and repeated “there is little time for interaction,” according to IRNA news agency.
The parliamentarian declared the organ is “closely following Western countries movements and if it feels like negotiations are being used as an excuse to justify illegal actions, things are going to change for sure.”
Teheran has made no comments so far about the proposal of permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany that Iran should halt its nuclear program.
Nevertheless, the European Union decided to freeze assets of the Iranian National Bank (Melli) until that country’s authorities answer the offers at hand.
Larijani wondered why they have taken the “road to confrontation when they were considering negotiation.”
The same day Javier Solana, high-ranking official of Foreign Policy and Common Security of the EU, arrived in this country to deliver the package, US President, George Bush, expressed “his concern about Teheran rejecting it,” before it arrived.
“Iranian people and that of the area are closely following his movements. You know all he got from faulty strategies in Iraq, Lebanon and Afghanistan was hatred,” underlined the official.
