The winning team will get a chance to play in the finals of the Yakult Danone Nations Cup, to be held in Paris Sept 4-7 at Parc des Princes stadium.

The tournament will be held in association with the All India Football Federation (AIFF). Incidentally the tournament will see no team from West Bengal, because its state association Indian Football Association (IFA) has failed to meet the deadline for sending entries.

“Football is fast gaining popularity all over India. It is our endeavour to promote interest and nurture young talent in this sport. Events such as these will not only increase interest in the game, they will also put India on the football map internationally,” said AIFF president Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi.
