According to a press release, the number of candidates appeared at the exam was roughly the same as last year where approximately 9000 students had registered, of which only 7000 took the exam. This year too JMI had taken every precaution to ensure the exam went off smoothly. It had organized 30 cars to ferry students to far-off centres. The entire process was overseen by 10 observers who had come from the UGC.
