Gaza : At least 100 Palestinians have been killed and over 300 wounded in the Israeli offensive of the last four days against the Gaza Strip, where still another two people were killed in a bombing on Sunday.
The Health Ministry in Gaza said there are 15 children among the dead, including a six month-old baby, and another 312 people were wounded in the land and ground onslaught intensified on Thursday.
Today, IDF (Israel Defense Forces) planes and choppers attacked several points of the Strip, including the offices of Palestinian former Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh for a second time since Thursday.
At least two people were killed during a bombing in the Jabaliya refugee camp, and a 14-year old boy was shot dead while attending a demonstration against the massacre in the West Bank city of Hebron, security sources said.
The deadliest day was Saturday, when 54 Palestinians were killed and over 30 wounded, medical sources revealed.
Two Israeli soldiers were killed in clashes, according to IDF.
These assaults prompted PA (Palestinian Authority) President Mahmoud Abbas to suspend contacts with Tel Aviv agreed on in November in Annapolis, US.
A communiqué read by Palestinian presidential spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeina termed negotiations and contacts meaningless in view of the Israeli aggression, and said they have been suspended.
For his part, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert ratified that such operations will not cease.
“Let me be clear, Israel has no intention of stopping the fight …for even a second, and we will act according to the blueprint set by the government at a time and intensity of our choosing…,” he said.
