Kuala Lumpur : Heavy downpour has not cooled the campaign fever as Malaysia goes to the polls Saturday. And there is bhangra too, to entertain voters.
Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi braved one rain-lashing Sunday night with some 2,000 people hearing him.
He was greeted by kompang, the traditional Malay dance, bhangra from India’s Punjab province and traditional Chinese and Indian music.

Pregnant candidate rushed to hospital
Teo Eng Ching, six months pregnant, was admitted to hospital after she vomited during her punishing campaign routine for the Labis parliamentary seat.
Herself a medico, the Democratic Action party (DAP) candidate was addressing a crowd in front of the party building Sunday night.
“One minute into her speech, she vomited again on stage. I rushed her to Segamat Hospital,” husband Eddie Chang said.
Teo was admitted to the emergency unit before being transferred to the maternity ward for observation.

Voting has begun for members of the armed forces and police, many of whom would be on security duty for the elections.
The country’s 135,682 soldiers began voting for 101 parliamentary and 114 state seats since Saturday, armed forces chief Gen Abdul Aziz Zainal said.
