Talking to the media on 7th March, he challenged the committees’ decision to bring no-confidence motion against him and said the constitution of the organization had no provision of bringing no-confidence motion against the president. He said he was appointed by state units of Jamiat, and so the working committee has no right to dismiss him. The working committee of Jamiat dismissed him from the post on 6th March and appointed Quari Mohammad Usman, deputy manager of Darul Uloom Deoband, as caretaker president.

Reacting to the committees’ decision, Maulana Arshad Madni suspended Maulana Mahmood Madni and his six supporters from the organization’s working committee and announced formation of a new working committee. Maulana Mahmood Madni and his six supporters have not been included in the new committee.

Jamiat’s newly appointed caretaker president, Quari Mohammad Usman, said he did not want the post; he has been appointed as caretaker president by the working committee. Asked about Maulana Arshad Madni’s statement that his dismissal was unconstitutional, Quari Mohammad Usman said this would be clear in the working committee meeting to be held on 26th March.
