Deoband: Angered at the alleged indecent treatment to national president of Jamiatul Ulama-i Hind (JUH), Maulana Arshad Madani, at its head office in New Delhi, some students of Darul Uloom Deoband took out demonstration on 7th March.
As the news reached Darul Uloom Deoband that Qari Usman Mansoorpuri, deputy director of Darul Uloom Deoband, has been elected JUH president after impeaching Maulana Arshad Madani, students came out of their rooms and within moments their number rose to thousands. They raised slogans against Maulana Mahmood Madani and Qari Usman Mansoorpuri, demanding that Maulana Mahmood Madani should be ousted from the organization immediately. They were also angry over the role played by Qari Mohammad Usman Mansoorpuri. The students say there is match for Maulana Arshad Madani, both politically and academically.
On the other side, accepting Maulana Arshad Madani as their undisputed leader, Ulema of Deoband said his political foresight cannot be compared with that of Maulana Mahmood Madani. In lust for power, they alleged, Maulana Mahmood Madani, has forgotten how crucial role Maulana Arshad Madani played in strengthening JUH during his father’s tenure. Maulana Arshad Madani never longed for any post in the organization, they said.
