New Delhi : With the arrest of two Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) militants in Punjab, Delhi Police Thursday claimed to have foiled attempts by terrorists to target religious leaders.
Delhi Police’s Special Cell arrested the suspected militants Jaswant Singh and Surender Singh alias Fauzi from Punjab’s Jalandhar city Wednesday.
The police said weapons and explosives were recovered from them.
In the first week of January this year, Delhi Police had arrested four BKI militants and foiled an alleged attempt to kill Baba Piara Bhaniarewala in Punjab.
The police had then claimed that BKI chief Wadhawa Singh and Jagtar Singh Tara – both based in Pakistan and allegedly protected by Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) – had hatched a conspiracy to target religious leaders after collecting funds in Germany and the US.
