Ramallah : Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyadh said Sunday Israel should ease the suffering of the Palestinian people by acting on the ground to enable the Palestinian Authority (PA) honors needs of Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
Fayyadh said in a statement after meeting with US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak in occupied Jerusalem, that the Israeli statement over the removal of roadblocks and halting building of settlements should be materialized on the ground.
Fayyadh called on importance of halting the Jewish settlement expansions as part of the roadmap.
Rice said that Israel agreed to remove 50 roadblocks in the West Bank but did not determine their locations.
Fayyadh and Barak agreed to give the Palestinian security forces more responsibilities in the West Bank.
